Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR
Fujifilm has unveiled the FinePix F200EXR digital compact, incorporating its new 1/1.6” Super CCD EXR sensor. The camera is the first to use the company’s EXR technology that can use the sensor in three different ways to optimize resolution, dynamic range or low-light performance. The F200EXR has a 3.0″ LCD, 5x optical zoom, dual image stabilization and HD (stills) output. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W200
Last but by no means least are three new W series digital cameras, now even slimmer, and with some pretty impressive specification. Top of the tree is the W200, which is the first camera we’ve seen to feature a new 12 megapixel 1/1.7-inch sensor (and you thought the megapixel race was over). Nearly two years after Konica Minolta transferred its camera division over to Sony, and over a year after Sony’s first DSLR (the A100), today is the day that the curtain is finally lifted on the long-awaited ‘high end’ Alpha digital SLR (in principle the replacement for the Konica Minolta 7D). Samsung NV20
Samsung has announced a trio of new compacts in its NV (New Vision) series, upping the resolution in the range-topping NV20 to 12 megapixels with 8 and 10 MP sensors available in the NV8 and NV15. All three feature the same attractive styling and innovative ‘Smart Touch’ interface as before – albeit with tweaks. The NV20 is the first camera from Samsung to feature a new and improved image processing system – it will be interesting to see how that performs when the cameras arrive at the end of August.
