Ricoh has today announced the update to the Caplio R4 with the 7.24 million pixel Caplio R5. The R5 features a 7.1x zoom, Ricoh’s CCD-shift vibration correction, adds a brighter 2.5-inch LCD and ups sensitivity to ISO 1600.

Pentax K110D digital camera

Today sees the announcement of two new 6.1 million pixel DSLRs from Pentax, the K100D and the K110D. Both cameras offer high precision 11-point wide frame AF, ISO sensitivity up to 3200, a large 2.5-inch screen and a top shutter speed of 1/4000 sec as well as being compatible with existing Pentax lenses. The K100D is also Pentax’s first DSLR to feature a CCD-shift Shake Reduction system.

Pentax has announced the new ultra-compact Optio S7, almost a year since the Optio S6. This new camera features a seven megapixel sensor with high sensitivity up to ISO 1600 (at 4 mp). In addition it also features Face Recognition AF & AE, a 2.5″ LCD monitor, DivX Movie Mode and support for the new SDHC card format. The S7 will be available in September for under US$300.
