Sony has announced a new addition to its W-series of digital compact cameras. The entry-level DSC-W220 sports a 12MP sensor, 2.7″ LCD, 4x optical zoom and incorporates features that were initially seen only in the premium W models including Intelligent Scene Recognition, Dynamic Range Optimizer, Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation, Smile Shutter technology and HD output. Priced at around $190, the camera will start shipping in March 2009.
